It is a bitter pill to swallow, folks, but as we sit here on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, the reality is clear: our Tigers are watching the postseason from home. After playing all 162 games of the schedule, a 76-86 finish just wasn't enough to secure a spot in October baseball. We all wanted more, and frankly, we expected more from this group.

So, what went wrong? While we saw flashes of brilliance from the youth movement, the consistency simply wasn't there. We struggled to find that reliable rhythm needed to climb out of the hole in the AL Central. Now, the front office faces a long winter of tough questions. We need to look at our core, identify where we are leaking runs, and figure out how to transform those close losses into wins for 2027. The talent is percolating, but it needs to be bolstered. As a fan, it’s painful to see the postseason carry on without our boys in the Old English D. We’ll be here, as always, waiting for pitchers and catchers to report. The Motor City deserves a winner, and the work to build that contender starts right now.
