It’s a tough pill to swallow, folks. As we sit here on Sunday, October 11, 2026, the postseason is rolling on without our boys in the Old English D. Ending at 76-86, this season didn't deliver the October baseball we all crave. We watched the AL Central closely, but ultimately, we just couldn't bridge that nine-game gap to reach the top.
So, where do we go from here? The offseason questions are already piling up like snow in January. We need to look at the roster with a critical eye—consistency was the ghost that haunted us all summer. Did we get the production we needed from the core? Did the pitching depth hold up when the pressure mounted? These are the conversations that will dominate the Hot Stove season.
While it’s painful to watch other teams battle for the trophy, it’s a necessary perspective. We have to analyze what separates those clubs from ours. The foundation is there, but the structure needs reinforcements. Tigers fans are the most loyal in baseball, and we deserve a team that plays deep into the fall. We’ll be back, we’ll be better, and we’ll be ready when spring training rolls around.
