Being a Leafs fan is a lifestyle choice I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy, yet here I am. We sit at 8-6-2, three games back in the Atlantic. It is early, the season is very much alive with 68 games remaining, and yet, somehow, it already feels like we are walking a tightrope over Niagara Falls. I keep telling myself its just November, but you know how it goes—cautious optimism is just a fancy term for 'ready to be hurt again.'
Looking at the league, the dust has settled on yesterday’s action, where we saw the Leafs take down Vancouver 4-2 on Saturday, October 31. Other Saturday results saw Boston edge Chicago 5-4, St. Louis beat Detroit 5-4, and Nashville scrape past Tampa Bay 5-4. Montreal topped Pittsburgh 5-4, Dallas handled Columbus 3-1, Colorado beat Calgary 5-2, Buffalo slipped past LA 3-2, and Ottawa crushed San Jose 5-1. Edmonton also shut out the Islanders 4-0. Today’s slate is packed with five games, but until the puck drops, I’ll be here, clutching my lucky sweater and questioning every roster decision. It’s a long road to April, and lord knows we need all the help we can get.
