As a lifelong Leafs fan, my heart rate usually sits somewhere between 'mildly concerned' and 'existential dread.' We are 3-3-1, which feels entirely on brand—enough to give you hope, just enough to ensure the inevitable heartbreak later. With 77 games left, we have plenty of time to master the art of the blown lead. Tonight, we face Buffalo at 7:00 PM ET. Ill be watching, as always, probably yelling at my television before the first period ends. Elsewhere, it’s a packed night of action with 10 other games, including Vancouver visiting Florida and the Rangers taking on the Devils. It’s hard to forget the results from yesterday, October 14, where Montreal fell 4-5 to Washington and Dallas edged out Colorado 3-2. Those games are already in the history books, much like the Leafs’ last championship parade, which I am told was a lovely event in 1967. We are still searching for the next one, but for now, we skate. It’s a long season, the standings are tight, and I’ve got my stress ball ready. If you’re a Leafs fan, you understand. If you’re not, I envy your blood pressure.
