It is a tough pill to swallow for all of us here in the Motor City. To end the year nine games back in the American League Central is not the outcome we envisioned when we broke camp back in the spring. While there were certainly flashes of brilliance and individual growth, the consistency required to compete into October just wasn't there over the full 162-game grind. As we look back, the inconsistency in the middle innings and missed opportunities in close games loom large. Now, the focus shifts entirely to the front office. We have major questions to answer regarding roster depth and offensive consistency if we want to bridge that gap next season. It is painful to see the postseason get underway without our boys in the Old English D, but as Tigers fans, we know loyalty is our hallmark. We take this time to rest, retool, and prepare for a better year ahead. The winter will be long, but the work starts now to ensure that when we return in 2027, we are ready to turn those close losses into the victories we need to get back to the top of the division.
