Six players, $60 cap. Three forwards, two defensemen and one goalie. Centers and wingers all count as forwards.

Skater scoring: 4 points per goal, 2 per assist, half a point per shot on goal and per blocked shot.

Goalie scoring: a quarter point per save, −1 per goal against, and a +3 bonus for a shutout. A big-save night wins weeks.

Your lineup locks at the week's first puck drop, and only games that start after you submit will score. Submit early to get the full slate — NHL teams play 3–4 games a week, so every roster spot works hard.

Injured players are removed automatically. Anyone on injured reserve or listed out comes off the board before you pick — day-to-day players stay, and calling that risk is part of the game.

New lineup every week. The board resets Monday, so a bad week is just a bad week.

The player pool isn't hand-picked. It's generated from real production: last season's NHL scoring leaders for skaters and wins leaders for goalies, ranked within their own position group — a defenseman is priced against defensemen, not against Connor McDavid. The pool regenerates each season, which is why the teams shown are current rather than whatever we remembered.

Salaries follow that ranking. Top few at a position cost the most, the next tier less, and so on. The order comes from production, not opinion. The cap is set so it genuinely binds — you can't afford McDavid, MacKinnon, Kucherov and two elite D, which is the whole game.

Scoring reads the official box score. Every point comes from ESPN's per-player box score — goals, assists, shots, blocks, saves and goals against. We read each stat by its label rather than its column position, so a change in how ESPN orders the columns can't silently shift your score.

Only games that start after you submit count. That's what makes it fair: nobody can bank a hat trick after the fact. Submit early to get the full slate.

Why your score has a decimal point. Shots and blocks are worth half a point each and saves a quarter point, so most nights land between the whole numbers.

Worked examples: a goal, an assist, 3 shots and a block = 4 + 2 + 1.5 + 0.5 = 8.0. A goalie with 30 saves and 2 goals against = 7.5 − 2 = 5.5 — and a 30-save shutout = 7.5 + 3 = 10.5.

Some entrants are house bots, and they're labelled. Anyone shown with a 🤖 is one of ours, drafting under exactly the same cap and rules. They're there so the board is never empty — and beating them is the point.
